York St Studio Winning students were picked up from Dunedin and New Plymouth and flown to Auckland. The teams recorded their individual raps and verses under the guiding hand, or ear, of Che Fu at the famous York Street studios and the "Do The Krusher" track was laid down. You can see the video of the winning teams in the recording studio with Che Fu on the homepage. And don't forget to check out the rap and the winning lyrics below!

After working hard in the studio, the teams let off steam at the Megazone in Mt Wellington, where they played on the bumper cars, played pool and played off each other at Laser Strike!!

Students and school principals (or their nominee) were flown from Dunedin & New Plymouth to Wellington - home of the Beehive - accompanied by parents and siblings to receive recognition by the Honourable Trevor Mallard, Minister for the Environment, in the Prime Minister's Press Theatrette.

Not only did they receive recognition, but also were awarded plaques of their CD by the Minister, ipods and goodie bags. Both Fitzroy and Fairfield Schools received $1000 cash to spend where needed within the school. The boys and Che performed their winning recorded rap with the added bridge DO THE KRUSHER.

After the presentation and speeches, students, parents, invited guests and Glass Forum personnel took in the newly branded KRUSHER (The Grizzly Bear and Shatter) which was parked just outside the Beehive, and then it was onto the BACKBENCHER PUB - a pub of political satire in the heart of 'government central' - for a celebratory "feast".

Here Che Fu was also presented with a plaque of "Do the Krusher" by David Carter, Chairman of the Glass Packaging Forum.

Sean Hone blown away with all the treats! Ipods, plaques, goodie bags…now, let’s get to the Backbencher for FOOD!

Students, principals and parents went home on a high. It's not every day you get to "name a crusher", record in an Auckland recording studio with the iconic New Zealand rap artist, Che Fu, sightsee Auckland, be flown to the Beehive to be presented by The Hon Trevor Mallard, pick up a bunch of goodies, be fed and watered and flown home!!

As parents of the winning students have written "this has been an experience of a lifetime for our boys - they will never forget it, nor the kindness and generosity they received from Che Fu and the Glass Forum personnel."
