Festival funding keeps the glass flowing

It’s not only businesses, councils and community recyclers who make use of GPF funding.

The organisers of Splore, a boutique music and arts festival outside Auckland, sought funding to improve glass recycling at the event. The festival has a strong environmental theme and in keeping with this, organisers applied for funding to train bar managers and staff on new processes for colour-separated glass collection ‘back of house’.

This increased the volume and quality of glass available to go back to the furnace to make new glass bottles and jars.
