Tauranga glass recycling on the up

It’s been six months since the Tauranga City Council kicked off its rates-funded kerbside collection for glass bottle and jar recycling, and the service is showing excellent results.

The Glass Packaging Forum helped fund the new collection, which saw residents issued with glass recycling crates. The council has since reported the service has collected almost twice as much glass as previous collections and serviced on average 5500 households each day.
